Careers

This Term room 23 is doing a research on their careers about what they want to be when they are older for their seminar in week 8. Everybody came up with lots of good ideas on what they want to be when they grow up. In our seminar we need to have three questions and relevant information to support their question. We can present our seminar on a slide show or using a science board or any equipment we want to use. For some of our careers we are shadowing and emailing people for more information, what skills we need, what subject do we need to take to get that career. My career is a Hospital Receptionist and i have been doing a lot of research on what skills i need, what subject i need to take when im in college and more. We are all excited about our seminars.

We worked very hard on our science and it turned out great. We have found that there are nine different types of fingerprints. We also found that fingerprints are mostly used for identification of crime.

We had a really tough game in the rain, but even though we had to put up with that, Our class Room 23 and our buddy class Room 36 still came out with a win. Then it came to the finals we versed Room 3, it was a tough and a hard game but we won. On the 25th of June, at the assembly winning buddy class was Room 23 and Room 36. Food Technology

Half of Room 23 attend food technology with Mrs Garrett each day 5 during period 3&4. Our fisrt day at food technology we made milk shake and the week after that we dicided to make our own drinks. At Food Technology we have been learning alot on how to cook. On the past few weeks we have been cooking apple and cinnamon, any muffins we like, different type of biscuits, potatoe with mash potatoe inside. Before we start to cook we have to wash our hands for 20 seconds, dry our hands for 20 seconds, put on aprons and get out equipment needed. On the last few weeks we had to choose any type of food and each week we have to make it healthier than the week before. My partner was Fatai and we chose to cook Kebabs. Me and Fatai first cooked chicken kebabs and the next week after that we made fruit kebabs to make it healthier. For the last lesson me and Danielle Moore chose to make Macaroni Cheese, it was delicious. We have learnt that we always have to wash and dry our hands for 20 seconds before you start cooking.

My Exposition

Breakfast

Breakfast has always been the most important meal of the day. Skipping breakfast is bad for your health and you are more likely to have an unhealthy lifestyle.

A good breakfast provides the nutrients that you need to start your day off right.
Weather you work at home, on the farm, at the office, at school, or on the road it is not a good idea to skip breakfast.

Eating breakfast every morning increases your ability, to focus on tasks at school and at work. A good breakfast gives you the energy you need to get through your day.

A healthy breakfast might be something simple like a hard boiled egg, toasts, and a bowl of whole grain cereal with low fat milk. Stay away from the sugary cereals, pastries and white bread because they are digested quickly.

Breakfast has always been the most important meal of the day but should not be the only meal for the day.

Graphic Organizer

Room 23 did a Graphic Organizer on What Things We Have Choices About for D.A.R.E.
We had to buddy up with a person and we had to think carefully about what things we have choices about. Some of my choices were weather I would fight or not, my dream job when I finish school and choosing what friends to go with to special events.

Decision Making

Room 23 created a comic life about How Can Decisions We Make Impact On Our Lives And The Lives Of Others. Me and my buddy Fatai decided to do ours on Saying No To Smoking. We had to take pictures of our self in an action to show what we are doing. We have done this to encourage people not to smoke and the bad things it will give you, it gives you rotten teeth and other bad effects on your body. Room 23 have learnt alot from D.A.R.E.
